Acupuncture in a nutshell

Acupuncture is the process of sterile needles inserted in the body on specific or local points. These points lie on meridians or channel pathways. There are 12 primary meridian channels from head to toe that correspond to organs. These channels are like waterways moving in a rhythm, carrying Qi (energy) and nutrients like blood and oxygen throughout the body. When the body is in homeostasis, every organ and meridian is functioning at its best. Thus, everything is in harmony and we feel good. However, when the body is stressed out, over worked, and there is trauma or disease, then there is a kink or disruption in the hose or channel pathway. The body will respond with pain, emotional turmoil, illness or lack of energy. Placing needles in specific areas helps unkink the hose(s) or meridian channels and helps heal the body, bringing it back to homeostasis. Acupuncture is a very soothing and safe medicine. This medicine is over 2,500 years old and used around the world. The goal of this dynamic medicine is to activate the natural, self-healing of the body. It can also support and strengthen the body to prevent future illness and disease.

Massage in a nutshell

Massage therapy is a hand on holistic approach of relieving the muscles of stress, tight-knotted muscles which allowing quicker muscle recovery. Massage therapy can prevent injury due to moving that circulation and not allowing for stagnation that causes injuries.

Therapies result in:

  • Decreased pain
  • Speeds healing of strained muscles and sprained ligaments
  • Reduces muscle spasms and knots
  • Provides greater joint flexibility and range of motion
  • Improves circulation of blood and movement of lymph fluids
  • Reduces levels of anxiety
  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Relieves stress and aids in relaxation
  • Enhances overall health
  • Happy people
Cupping in a nutshell

Cupping is an ancient technique that involves placing jars on the skin, suctioning out the air and creating a vacuum. The underlying tissue is raised, or sucked, partway into the cup. Specially made glass, bamboo or plastic jars are placed on the patient’s skin to create this suction. Traditionally, this was done with fire, but the modern version uses a hand pump to create the vacuum inside the cup. The results are releasing toxins, enhancing circulation, and relieving pain.

Moxabution in a nutshell

Moxabution is an ancient modality of Chinese medicine that is burning of the herb mugwort. This process can be burned on the handle of the needle, hovered above the skin or burned on the skin safely. The theory of this fascinating modality is to promote heat into the meridian or channel pathway by increasing circulation aiding in health and wellness.

Orgonite in a nutshell

Orgonite is the process of compressing crystals and metal in resin. The term orgonite was coined from the term orgone, or zero point energy, which is similar to prana, Qi or universal energy. Orgone is created by layering resin (organic) and metal shavings (inorganic) to harness the vital life force energy and amplify it. Typically, a quartz crystal wrapped in copper wire is used because of its piezoelectric properties, which means that it gives off a charge when put under pressure. This crystal-metal matrix, when compressed, converts negative energy to positive energy, creating a physical, spiritual and emotional balance. The addition of the stone Shungite counteracts the effects of negative electromagnetic waves like a salt rock on steroids. If this matrix is dense then it is true orgonite. Otherwise, it is just resin art, which is beautiful, but will not absorb and remediate EMF waves to the extent of orgonite.

Malas in a nutshell

Malas is derived from the Sanskrit word “Japamala” which is a string of 108 beads used for mediation and prayer by Hindus and Buddhists. The number 108 is considered a sacred number in the Hindu faith. 1 stands for Source, or your own highest truth, 0 stands for without form or the bridge between the physical and the metaphysical realms and 8 means infinity or timelessness. The guru bead near the tassel is your teacher, which holds your prayers and intentions. During a mala meditation you would start with the guru bead by setting your intention. This is the bead that also helps you know when you begin and end your mala meditation. The tassel is the root of the mala which anchors the guru bead and to hid the end knots. Today malas have made a fashion statement in the yoga community that has grown above and beyond.
